COVID-19 lockdown: On Sunday, places of worship in Kerala can only allow 15 people at a time.

Even though there would be a complete lockdown on Sunday, the Kerala government has allowed prayers at religious places. However, ceremonies should carefully follow COVID-19 guidelines, and the maximum number of devotees at a time has been limited to 15.

Despite the government’s announcement that public prayers may be held at places of worship on Sunday, no other restrictions have been lifted. The government will decide whether or not to lift the limitations only after the high-level coordination meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said that the complete lockdown in force on Sunday was not applicable to places of worship.

Even though there will be a total lockdown on Sunday, the examinations that were set before will be allowed.

For the weekend, employees working in the important service industry and in health care have been granted exemptions.

On both Saturday and Sunday, private buses are not available. The KSRTC, on the other hand, will operate just a restricted number of buses.

Vehicles, however, will not be permitted due to the entire lockdown.

On Saturday and Sunday, hotels, restaurants, and bakeries are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Only home delivery of food from hotels will be permitted over the weekend. On weekends, food cannot be sold in parcels as it is on weekdays.

Food, grocery, fruit, vegetable, meat, and fish stores may be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At this time, milk booths and toddy stores are also permitted to operate.

Construction workers can work as long as they follow Covid guidelines. The nearby police station should be notified of the building activity ahead of time.

On Monday, banks and financial institutions will reopen. In locations with high TPR, however, triple lockdown will remain in effect.
