Suresh Gopi Stands in Solidarity with Mariyakutty, Extends Financial Aid

Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi demonstrated his support for Mariyakutty, an elderly woman who protested against the delayed release of welfare pension by the state government in Adimali. Despite ongoing allegations mentioned by Mariyakutty regarding a case against Suresh Gopi, the actor visited her around 8:30 AM on Friday. This move is perceived as an act of solidarity with the woman’s fight against the authorities.

During the meeting, Suresh Gopi assured Mariyakutty that he would persist in questioning the state government on the whereabouts of central funds. Mariyakutty, in turn, accused the Pinarayi-led government of engaging in extortion and expressed her disappointment with the Chief Minister’s governance. She highlighted her concerns, stating, “People of the state are scared of their CM. In my entire life, I have never been governed by such a chief minister.”

Suresh Gopi brought attention to the additional charge of Rs 2 imposed on every liter of petrol purchased in the state. He criticized the Chief Minister’s earlier statement, mentioning that the additional funds collected would be used for distributing pensions to the poor. The actor declared that people in the state should stop paying the extra money for petrol and announced plans to send notices to petrol companies, including Indian Oil, citing the perceived exploitation.

Moreover, Suresh Gopi pledged financial assistance of Rs 1,600 each to Mariyakutty and another individual named Annakutty from his MP’s pension in the coming months. This commitment is seen as an effort to address the immediate financial concerns faced by those affected by the delayed welfare pension distribution. The actor’s visit and promises of support underscore his involvement in addressing issues affecting the welfare of individuals in the community.
