Bigil review : An absolutely inspiring sports drama with all Kollywood spices

Bigil is one of the most awaited Kollywood film. It is the only release of Thalapathy Vijay in 2019. So the anticipation was really high. But the has not disappointed us at all.

The film is written and directed by Atlee and produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under the banner AGS Entertainment. It stars Nayanthara opposite Vijay. The film has music composed by A. R. Rahman.

Plot

Bigil is bascally a sports drama. It is narrated through the characters of Vijay, Nayanthara and Kathir. It showcases the inside politics, discrepancies and disparities in the sports selection process.

When our broken yet successful central character faces these issues and decides to fight against all odds to break the system to fulfill the dreams of his less privileged team, the exciting race of Bigil begins. From thereon the film keeps the audience hooked to the screen.

The first part of the first half is full of a pure kollywood commercial flick. But it cannot be said as a negative point as the fans asks for it.

Performance and technical side

Bigil has a very good cast and crew and they proved their excellence yet again. Be it the lead cast or the side cast, everyone was spectacular.

The leading ladies has shown the true spirit and vigour of every aspiring sportsperson. Every character has given enough space to display their role. It is really commentable.

The grey shaded characters were also shown in a proper way. Neither the hero overshadowed them nor they grabbed the over screen space to steal the importance. All of them including bollywood stars Jackie Shroff, Arjan Bajwa and Malayali footballer IM Vijayan did justice to their part.

The highlight of the film was the background music and the songs. ‘Singappenne’ and ‘Unakkaaga’ has already grabbed top spots in the hit charts. So Bigil is a film worth watching and its a lovely Diwaali gift to all Vijay fans and all movie lovers.
