Soumya killed in Israeli rocket attack; Condemned, India will provide all possible assistance to the family

New Delhi: India has condemned the Israeli rocket attack. The foreign ministry called on both sides to exercise restraint. The Union Minister of State for External Affairs said that all assistance would be provided to the family of Soumya Santosh, who was killed in the rocket attack. V Muraleedharan wrote on Twitter that he had spoken to the family and shared their grief.


Meanwhile, the Malayalee community is shocked that a Malayalee woman was killed in a rocket attack on Ashka Lone in Israel. Soumya Ashka, a resident of Idukki Keerithode, was talking to her husband on a video call when a rocket fell on her apartment and caused a tragedy. The body is being kept at the hospital in Bursail, Ashkelon. Soumya’s friends and Malayalee nurses have reached the hospital after learning about the tragedy.

More official information is expected from the Indian Embassy in Israel regarding the incident. Soumya has been working as a care giver at Ashkelon for the last ten years. Soumya last visited the country in 2017. Soumya’s husband and son are at home. The Malayalee community in the region is deeply concerned about the Israeli-Palestinian border conflict.
