CPM to Assess Political Impact of ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

A month after the conclusion of the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ public outreach program by the LDF government in Kerala, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM] state leadership is set to evaluate its political impact in each constituency. The CPM, gearing up for the crucial Lok Sabha Election, views the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ as a state-wide political movement.

Reports indicate that the CPM will convene a state secretariat meeting on Friday, followed by a state council meeting over the weekend to assess the outcomes of the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas.’ The party, which sees the event as a success in coordinating activities at various levels, including booth-level efforts, aims to capitalize on the momentum gained during the public outreach.

Simultaneously, the CPM has initiated preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, prioritizing the compilation of a comprehensive voter list. Booth-level committees have been directed to ensure that no potential voter supporting the left front is omitted from the list. State committees will oversee and manage this task as part of the election preparations.

In addition to election-focused preparations, the CPM has resolved to intensify its campaign against the union government, attributing the financial crisis to the central government’s alleged failure to release funds. The party also plans to target the center for various issues within the state, such as pension arrears and challenges faced by rubber farmers. This strategic move positions the CPM to not only assess the aftermath of ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ but also to amplify its political narrative in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
