The NIA arrests two Kannur women suspected of having ties to the Islamic State

Kannur: In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two women from Kerala’s Kannur on suspicion of having ties to the Islamic State on Tuesday. Shifa Haris and Mizha Siddique have been identified.
According to NIA officials, both were allegedly involved in spreading ISIS ideology on social media through the formation of a group called the ‘Chronicle Foundation.’

According to reports, the NIA apprehended them after a six-month investigation. According to the NIA, a 7-member gang has been spreading ISIS ideology. Previously, the NIA apprehended a man named Musad Anwar. Similarly, on August 5, another man named Amir Abdul Rahman was apprehended in Mangaluru.

Based on Rahman’s hints, the NIA apprehended the women. The women had been on the NIA’s radar since March of last year.
