Rain Forecast for Vishu: These Kerala Districts Expected to Receive Showers

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts are anticipated to experience light to moderate summer rain during the evening of Vishu day. Among these, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur are more likely to receive rainfall. On the preceding Friday, there was a notable decrease in the average temperature, with Kollam district experiencing a drop of 4.3 degrees and Thiruvananthapuram seeing a decrease of 3.8 degrees. The recent rain caused a two-degree drop in temperature. Palakkad, which had previously recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees, saw a decline to 38 degrees.

Over the next few days, Palakkad is expected to have a maximum temperature of 39 degrees, while Thrissur will record around 38 degrees. Other districts such as Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode, and Kannur are likely to record temperatures of around 37 degrees. Fisherfolk have been cautioned against venturing into the sea for fishing due to the possibility of strong winds ranging from 40 to 45 kmph and adverse weather conditions along the South Kerala coast and Lakshadweep.
