Rahul Gandhi Files Nomination Papers from Wayanad LS Seat

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi officially entered the electoral fray on Wednesday by filing his nomination papers from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. Accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi and other senior party leaders, including AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, Rahul submitted his nomination papers to the Wayanad District Collector, who also serves as the Returning Officer.

After completing the formalities, Rahul took the oath to uphold the Constitution, concluding the submission process. Earlier in the day, he arrived in Wayanad by helicopter and led a roadshow from Kalpetta to Civil Station before heading to the District Collector’s office.

Addressing the public during the roadshow, Rahul expressed his gratitude to the people of Wayanad, emphasizing his deep connection with the constituency. He assured the residents of his unwavering commitment to addressing their concerns and bringing their issues to the national and global spotlight.

Highlighting key issues such as the man-animal conflict and the establishment of a medical college in Wayanad, Rahul pledged to champion the region’s interests relentlessly. He criticized the incumbent government for its inaction on these matters and vowed to pursue them vigorously with the support of the people.

Rahul Gandhi, who won the Wayanad seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a significant margin, will face tough competition from opponents such as BJP state president K Surendran and CPI leader Annie Raja in the upcoming polls scheduled for April 26. With his nomination now official, the electoral battle in Wayanad promises to be closely watched as Rahul seeks to retain his parliamentary seat and continue representing the interests of the people of Wayanad.
