Director Lokesh Kanagaraj Injured in Palakkad Stampede During ‘Leo’ Promotion

In a startling incident during the promotional tour of his latest film ‘Leo’, acclaimed Tamil movie director Lokesh Kanagaraj faced an unfortunate mishap in Palakkad, Kerala. Thousands of eager fans swarmed the Aroma Theatre in Palakkad, causing a stampede-like situation. In the chaos, Lokesh sustained a leg injury.

The overwhelming response from fans led to a large crowd, prompting the police to intervene with a lathi-charge to control the situation. Due to his injury, Lokesh had to cancel his planned events for the day, including visits to Ragam Theatre in Thrissur and Kavitha Theatre in Kochi. Consequently, the scheduled press conference in Kochi was also rescheduled for a later date.

Meanwhile, ‘Leo’, featuring popular actor Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, has been met with tremendous success in Kerala, running in over 600 screens across the state. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Myshkin, and others. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film. Produced by Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banners of Seven Screen Studio and The Root, the film has garnered record-breaking collections in the state. Cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, action sequences by Anbarivu, and editing by Philomin Raj. Despite the unfortunate incident, the film continues to make waves in the Kerala film industry.
