Coronavirus: Prohibitory orders in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta

As part of precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus in state, prohibitory orders have been placed in Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts. Thiruvananthapuram district collector K Gopalakrishnan informed that Section 144 will come into force in the district from 7 am on Wednesday. Pathanamthitta district collector P B Nooh said that prohibotory order will be placed in the district from Tuesday midnight till March 31.

The step was taken as people were not obeying government or district administration instructions and assembling cities, markets and worship places, they said. Prohibitory orders have been declared in Kozhikode, Kasaragod, Wayanad and Malappuram on Monday and in Ernakulam and Kottayam on Tuesday. Cases were registered against ten people in Kottayam for violating prohibitory order.
