Vigilance Inquiry Declined for Accusations Against Veena Vijayan; No Probe into Chief Minister and Daughter’s Actions

A plea requesting a vigilance inquiry into the accusations directed at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena Vijayan has been turned down. The Muvatupuzha Vigilance Court dismissed the petition, citing a lack of evidence to support the claims.

The court clarified that it cannot mandate an investigation without substantial proof of the alleged wrongdoing. Moreover, the court emphasized that mere newspaper articles are insufficient grounds for initiating an inquiry. The court’s decision comes in response to a petition submitted by Girish Babu, a resident of Kalamassery, urging an investigation into the alleged receipt of monthly payments by Veena Vijayan from the CMRL company.
