Rainfall Intensity to Increase in Kerala, Yellow Alert Issued in Several Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning stating that the intensity of rainfall in Kerala is expected to increase starting Monday, October 9th. This prediction comes following the formation of cyclonic circulations over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, indicating a likelihood of heavy rainfall in the state in the coming days.

In anticipation of the heightened rainfall, a yellow alert has been issued for several districts in Kerala:

Monday (October 9th): Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts are under a yellow alert, signifying a potential for heavy rainfall and urging residents and authorities to stay vigilant.

Tuesday (October 10th): The alert continues in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts.

Wednesday (October 11th): Idukki and Ernakulam districts have been placed under the yellow alert category.

Thursday (October 12th): Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts will be under the yellow alert, indicating a sustained risk of heavy rainfall.
