Sculpt Your Waistline with Yoga: 5 Powerful Poses to Trim Inches

Are you frustrated by those extra inches around your waistline that refuse to budge despite your efforts? Yoga, when combined with a balanced diet, can help you achieve a smaller waist by not only reducing inches but also boosting your metabolism and strengthening your core muscles. Here are five effective yoga poses recommended by our expert, Priyanka Devi Gupta from Delhi, that can help you attain a slimmer waist:

Trikonasana (Triangle Pose): Stand with your feet wide apart, turn your right foot 90 degrees, and left foot by 15 degrees. Inhale deeply, then exhale and bend your body to the right, keeping your waist straight. Extend your left hand upwards and your right hand down to the floor. Repeat on the left side.

Parivritta Sukhasana (Easy Seated Twist Pose): Sit in Sukhasana (cross-legged position) and place your right palm on the floor to the right near your hips. Exhale, twist your torso to the right, and turn your neck. Repeat on the left side.

Navasana (Boat Pose): Sit with your legs extended, press your hands on the floor behind your hips, and lift your feet off the floor. Straighten your knees if you can balance well. Keep your back straight and hold the pose, then slowly return to the starting position.

Dhanurasana (Bow Pose): Lie on your stomach, bend your knees, hold your ankles, and lift your chest and legs off the ground. Take deep breaths and maintain the pose, then gently release.

Virabhadrasana (Reverse Warrior Pose): Stand with your legs wide apart, turn your right foot out by 90 degrees, and bend your right knee. Extend your arms parallel to the ground and look to your right. Hold the pose, then come back up.

Remember, it’s essential to consult a doctor before attempting these poses, especially if you have back issues like a slip disc. These yoga postures, when practiced regularly, not only trim your waistline but also enhance core strength and flexibility.
