India’s active COVID-19 case count falls to 4.82 lakh with the addition of 39,796 new cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data on Monday (July 5, 2021), India recorded 39,796 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s active COVID-19 count to 4.82 lakh.

According to the Health Ministry, the national weekly positivity rate is currently 2.40 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 2.61 percent.

Between Sunday and Monday morning, there were 723 coronavirus-related fatalities and 42,352 recoveries.

So far, 4,02,728 people have died and 2,97,00,430 people have been discharged in India.

To date, 35.28 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered throughout the country. It should be noted that India will host a virtual global conference of representatives from the health and technology domains from other countries on Monday to exchange information about its immunization platform Co-WIN.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre has decided to make Co-WIN open to any country that wishes to use the platform to manage their immunization programme.

The Co-Win Global Conclave will be off at 3 PM IST (GMT +5:30 hours) with a special address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The virtual colloquium will be inaugurated by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.
The virtual conclave is expected to attract health and technology specialists from around 50 countries, including Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, and Uganda. Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Science and Technology has established two COVID-19 vaccine testing facilities at its Autonomous Research Institutes, the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) in Pune and the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad. The facilities will most likely test approximately 60 batches of vaccines per month.
