Rs 10,000 Pre-Onam Payment for Cashew Workers: 29.9% Bonus for Rope Workers

A 20% yearly bonus has been declared for cashew industry employees, accompanied by an additional advance of ten thousand rupees for the upcoming Onam festival. Meanwhile, coir factory laborers are set to receive a substantial 29.9% Onam advance bonus. This includes a core 20% bonus, along with an added 9.9% incentive calculated from earnings amassed between January and May of this year.

This resolution emerged from meetings conducted by the Cashew and Coir Industry Liaison Committee, led by Labor Minister V Sivankutty and attended by Industries Minister P Rajeev. Workers receiving monthly wages in the cashew sector will be eligible for a bonus equivalent to three months’ salary. The computation of this bonus will be based on the earnings of July’s concluding month.

The distribution of Onam advance and bonuses for cashew workers and staff members is scheduled to take place before the 24th of this month, with rope workers’ payouts anticipated before the 23rd. Labor Commissioner K. Vasuki, Additional Labor Commissioner K. Srilal, and participants from the Coir and Cashew Industry Liaison Committee were present during these deliberations.
