Kallambalam car accident; Driver booked for culpable homicide
A luxurious car rammed into the group of students who were waiting for the bus killing one girl and injuring many others. The police have taken the driver into custody and booked him culpable of homicide. Binu (44), a Kollam native and the car driver, has been booked by Kallambalam police for culpable homicide.
He will be produced before the court after recording his arrest and after a medical examination. Meanwhile, police said that a preliminary examination ruled out the possibility of Binu being the influence of alcohol when the accident happened.
Additionally, officials revealed that overspeeding, recklessness or gross negligence would have caused the accident. The deceased has been identified as Sreshta M Vijay, a native of Attingal and an MA English student at KTCT Arts College. A total of 16 students were injured in the accident.
