Controversial ‘The Kerala Story’ is set for theatre release

The controversial Movie, “The Kerala Story” is set to be released in cinemas on May 5. The film is written and directed by Sudipto Sen, known for movies such as “Aasma”, “Lucknow Times”, and “The Last Monk”.

According to the makers, “The Kerala Story” unearths the events behind approximately 32,000 women going missing in the Indian southern state of Kerala who is converted, radicalised and deployed in terror missions in India and the world.

Earlier, the release of the movie teaser with this claim had received flak. Opposition and Congress leader VD Satheesan called the teaser of ‘The Kerala Story’ a “clear case of misinformation” and claimed that the film is made to “tarnish the image of Kerala” in front of other states while also alleging that it is a “Sangh Parivar agenda”.

“The Kerala Story” is backed by Sunshine Pictures Private Limited, founded by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who serves as the producer, creative director and co-writer on the film.
