Internet and Phone Services Not Yet Restored at Rahul Gandhi’s Kalpetta Office by Central Government

Despite Rahul Gandhi’s reentry into Parliament, the federal administration has not yet reinstated internet and telephone connectivity at his office in Kalpetta, Wayanad. Moreover, a personal assistant who was seconded to the MP’s office and was removed due to Gandhi’s disqualification still awaits reappointment by the state government.

In April 2023, the BSNL connection at the Kalpetta office was severed following Gandhi’s disqualification resulting from the Modi surname case. Additionally, government-assigned police personnel were also withdrawn from guarding the leader’s office.

Nevertheless, on August 4, Gandhi’s MP status was restored after the Supreme Court halted his conviction in the aforementioned case. This development led to a surge in individuals visiting the office for various purposes. However, the absence of internet and aides has reportedly been causing delays in the efficiency of office services.
