All Schools in Konni Taluk Closed Due to Heavy Rainfall; Exams Continue as Scheduled

In response to heavy rain and landslides, all educational institutions in Konni Taluk of Pathanamthitta have been granted a day off on Monday. However, exams will proceed as planned, according to a Facebook post from the Pathanamthitta district collector.

The weather forecast predicts that Pathanamthitta will experience substantial rainfall over the next 24 hours due to a low-pressure system forming in the Bay of Bengal.

Meanwhile, Pathanamthitta district has seen sporadic heavy rainfall for the past three days. The areas surrounding major dams are still experiencing significant precipitation. The opening of one of the shutters at the Moozhiyar dam is expected to raise water levels in the Pamba River in the near future.

In addition, the district collector has urged the public to exercise caution in areas prone to landslides and has imposed a ban on tourist trips to Gavi.
