The Supreme Court has expressed concern over the delay in the response to Collegium recommendations by the Union government. During a plea seeking contempt action against the government, the court stated that it would closely monitor nearly 70 recommendations pending with the Centre. The Attorney General sought a week to provide the government’s stance. The matter has been scheduled for further consideration on October 9. The plea, filed by the Advocates Association Bengaluru, highlights delays in clearing names approved by the Collegium for appointments.
