KFON Broadband Services Now Accessible to the General Public Beyond BPL Category

The Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) services, previously accessible exclusively to educational institutions, government establishments, and households falling under the below poverty line (BPL) category, have now been extended to the general public.

Reports indicate that internet services will be provided to ordinary households at speeds ranging from 20 to 250 Megabits per second (MBPS), with rates ranging from Rs 1794 to Rs 7494 for nine different data plans during an initial six-month phase.

For a connection with a bandwidth of 250 MBPS, subscribers will need to make an initial payment of Rs 7494 plus GST for six months (5000 GB per month). Afterward, the monthly subscription rate is set at Rs 1249.

In the private sector, the minimum monthly subscription rate for a 30 MBPS data plan is Rs 480. However, KFON offers this plan for only Rs 411, inclusive of GST. Additionally, internet services with speeds of 15 MBPS are provided free of charge to BPL households.

The first KFON connection provided outside the BPL category was extended to a family in Vazhakulam, Ernakulam. The services will soon be accessible in the city of Kochi as well.

To avail KFON services, individuals can register through the EnteKFon mobile app or visit KFon.in.
