A recent case in Kannur, India, highlights the deceptive tactics used by scammers on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. In this instance, a woman was enticed with a fake online job offer at Amazon, promising lucrative returns for completing tasks. However, she ended up losing Rs 1,89,400 as the scammers demanded more money without fulfilling their commitments.

Legitimate companies do not typically ask for upfront payments or personal financial information during the hiring process.
