5 kg Free Rice for Kerala School Students during Onam

As part of the Onam in Kerala, the Education Department has made a decision to provide schoolchildren with complimentary rice. Each student will be given five kilograms of rice through the midday meal program in public schools across the state.

The Director of General Education has received the final approval from the Kerala Government for this initiative. The rice, sourced from the Supplyco Corporation’s inventory, will be distributed to schools. The distribution process will be facilitated through Supplyco outlets to reach all state schools. It is anticipated that approximately 29.5 lakh students will benefit from this rice distribution.
