Jacqueline Fernandez was barred from leaving the country at the Mumbai airport amid a Rs 200-crore extortion investigation

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacquline Fernandez was barred from leaving the country on Sunday (December 5) due to an investigation into a Rs 200 crore extortion case in which she had previously been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate.

According to our sources, the actress was on her way to Dubai when she was detained at Mumbai International Airport. Jacqueline has been issued a lookout notice by the ED.

The ‘Bhoot Police’ actress has been romantically linked to conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is accused of extortion for Rs 200 crore. When pictures of the couple kissing surfaced on social media, it sparked speculation about their relationship.

Sukesh and his actress wife Leena Maria Paul are allegedly linked to a Rs 200 crore money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.

He is also accused of attempting to extort money from politicians and celebrities.

Sukesh reportedly told the ED during questioning in October this year that he had given gifts worth crores to several celebrities.

As part of the investigation, ED summoned Jacqueline Fernandez several times, where she denied dating Sukesh. Her spokesperson also issued a statement on the subject, stating that she is willing to work with the agency.

According to a recent update, Jacqueline Fernandez received gifts worth INR 10 crore from multi-millionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Among the gifts were a horse worth INR 52 lakh rupees and four Persian cats worth INR 9 lakh each.

In an INR 200 crore money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a charge sheet against Sukesh, his wife actress Leena Maria Paul, and six others.

“According to the charge sheet, Sukesh and Jacqueline have been communicating since January 2021. Sukesh used to call Jacqueline on his cell phone even while incarcerated, according to an India Today report.

It also claimed that the conman sent money to the actress’s siblings in addition to the expensive gifts Jacky received from him.
