President Murmu Encourages Students to Use Knowledge for Social Good

Emphasizes the Role of Education in Supporting Underprivileged Sections and Promoting Gender Equity

In her address at the 21st convocation of Symbiosis International Deemed University, President Droupadi Murmu made a compelling appeal to students to harness their educational achievements for the betterment of society, particularly focusing on the underprivileged. She urged graduates to use their knowledge and skills to create impactful solutions, including software, healthcare products, and marketing strategies that promote both societal development and sustainability. According to President Murmu, leveraging such innovations can significantly aid in addressing the needs of marginalized communities and contribute to broader social progress.

The President also highlighted the role of national initiatives such as Start-up India, Skill India, Make in India, and Digital India as valuable resources that can support students in their efforts to achieve these goals. She stressed that students should aim for excellence in all their endeavors, emphasizing the importance of pursuing excellence as a pathway to success. “Chase excellence and success will follow,” she remarked, urging students to redefine success beyond material possessions and to focus on how their work can elevate others’ lives.

Moreover, President Murmu commended Symbiosis International for its focus on gender equity, noting that the near-equal representation of male and female students is a significant indicator of progress.
