Google has partnered with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to make quality education more accessible across India. This strategic collaboration focuses on empowering students, parents, and teachers by providing engaging, multilingual educational content tailored to India’s diverse learner base.
As part of this initiative, NCERT plans to launch a series of YouTube channels covering grades 1 to 12. These channels will feature educational content in 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language, ensuring inclusivity for differently-abled learners. The initiative aims to address India’s growing need for accessible education and leverage YouTube’s vast reach.
Google is also collaborating with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) to deliver credentialed courses on YouTube. These courses will span a wide range of subjects, from sciences and literature to niche areas like rocket propulsion and sports psychology. Learners outside the IIT system can enroll in NPTEL-SWAYAM portal courses to earn certifications, enhancing their academic and professional profiles.
Furthering innovation, Google is integrating AI tools to enrich educational videos with definitions and illustrations sourced from Google’s Knowledge Graph. This enhancement simplifies complex concepts, making subjects like biology and physics more comprehensible to learners.
Through these initiatives, Google and its partners are reshaping India’s educational landscape, bringing quality education closer to millions.
