Kerala’s railway stations are gearing up for a significant transformation, with plans to introduce massage chairs, gaming zones, and sleeping pods to enhance passenger comfort. These upgrades, aimed at improving the travel experience, will be rolled out at several key stations across the state.
Massage chairs will be among the first additions, with installations underway at Kozhikode, Ottappalam, Palakkad, and Pollachi stations. Similar chairs are already operational at Mangaluru Central, offering automated massages at affordable rates based on usage time. Kozhikode station is preparing to install three such chairs, with more expected soon.
For entertainment, gaming zones will be introduced at Palakkad Junction and Parappanangadi stations. These zones will feature computer games to keep passengers, particularly children, engaged while they wait for their trains. A tender has already been issued to set up these gaming facilities.
Additionally, Mangaluru station will soon offer sleeping pods, providing travelers with compact, capsule-style resting spaces equipped with beds, charging points, and luggage storage. This facility will be especially beneficial for passengers arriving at night and waiting for early morning trains.
To further improve passenger convenience, health kiosks will be installed at select stations, including Kozhikode, Shoranur, and Palakkad. These kiosks will offer essential health assistance, ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey for travelers. With these exciting upgrades, Kerala’s railway stations are set to become hubs of comfort and convenience.
