Ashtami, also known as Maha Ashtami, is considered the most auspicious day of Durga Puja and Shardiya Navratri. On this day, devotees worship Maa Mahagauri, an incarnation of Adi Shakti symbolizing purity and serenity. Navami follows, marking the ultimate victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. This day is particularly significant as it celebrates Durga in her fierce form, known as Mahishasuramardini.
