Sunday curbs eased: 20 people allowed in worship places

Amid the surge of Covid 19, omicron state-imposed Lockdown-like will be eased. 20 people will be permitted to attend prayers in worship places. This decision was taken following the request put forward by Christian religious leaders. The government is considering easing the curbs imposed on Sundays.

The official order regarding this is awaited. Only Kollam district has been included in the ā€˜Cā€™ category, with strict restrictions, in the state this week. There are 10 districts included in the B category. Category A includes Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. Kasaragod district is not included in any category.

Districts are categorised based on the number of people hospitalised with Covid. The decision was taken to hold Attukal Pongala at homes this year as well. 200 people may be allowed within the temple premises. Closed schools will reopen from February 14. Colleges will restart on February 7.
