Kerala will experience heavy rain and wind for the next two days due to a low-pressure area extending from the north Kerala coast to the south Gujarat coast and increased monsoon wind speeds of up to 65 kmph. A new low pressure system may form in the Bay of Bengal today as the existing one has weakened.
An orange alert has been issued for Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. A yellow alert is in place for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha. Wind gusts of up to 55 kmph are expected along the Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts, prompting advisories for people to avoid fishing until Sunday.
