Chennai: Ahead of the first state conference of his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), actor and party president Vijay has urged certain vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, school children, the elderly, and those who are unwell, to avoid attending the event scheduled for October 27 in Vikravandi, Villupuram district. In his message to TVK office-bearers and workers, Vijay reiterated that his party is committed to action-driven politics rather than empty rhetoric. He emphasized the principles of ‘Kadami, Kanniyam, Kattuppadu,’ meaning ‘duty, dignity, and discipline,’ which his party workers should embody.
Vijay’s call to action was rooted in his belief that success and failure are not the only metrics in politics; instead, dedication to ideology is paramount. He further stated that TVK’s ‘political mother tongue’ is the language of work and urged party members to be role models for others by adhering to political and social discipline, especially in terms of traffic regulations, during their travel to and from the conference.
TVK’s principles echo those of DMK founder CN Annadurai, with Vijay also adopting the ‘Pirappokkum’ couplet from the Tirukkural as the party’s tagline, symbolizing equality. The actor-politician expressed confidence that TVK will leave a lasting impression on Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, assuring that the party will emerge as a dominant force. This conference will unveil the core icons and ideology that TVK will champion moving forward.
Vijay had previously announced the formation of his party in February, and in September, the Election Commission officially registered TVK.
