Reliance Jio’s IPO Set for 2025: Ambani Targets Major Telecom Market Debut

Reliance Jio Eyes Indian Stock Market Listing Amid Strong Growth and Investor Interest

Reliance Jio, the telecommunications giant led by Mukesh Ambani, is preparing to debut on the Indian stock market with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) anticipated in 2025, according to a recent report by Reuters. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the report indicates that Jio, currently valued by analysts at over USD 100 billion, has reached a phase of steady revenue generation and business stability as India’s leading telecom operator, making it a prime candidate for a stock market entry.

This IPO aligns with Ambani’s earlier hints from 2019 about listing both Jio and Reliance Retail within a five-year timeframe. While Reliance Retail’s IPO has been postponed, Jio’s entry into the public market has been prioritized, with the retail unit’s listing expected to occur only after 2025. According to Jefferies’ analysis in July, Jio’s IPO valuation could reach an estimated USD 112 billion, underscoring the brand’s robust position within India’s competitive telecom sector.

The report suggests that the IPO could capitalize on India’s thriving stock market, where multiple companies have recently launched successful public offerings. An IPO offers companies the chance to raise equity capital by selling shares to public investors, often leading to significant market gains. While Reliance Industries has yet to comment on the matter, investors are keenly watching for what may become one of India’s largest and most awaited IPOs in recent years.
