Las Vegas Shootings Result in Six Deaths, Including Suspect

A man fatally shot five individuals and critically injured a 13-year-old girl in a series of apartment shootings near Las Vegas before taking his own life, authorities reported on Tuesday.

The North Las Vegas Police Department identified the suspected shooter as 47-year-old Eric Adams, who killed himself on Tuesday morning when confronted by officers in a neighborhood. Police had been searching for Adams since Monday night’s shootings, which occurred in separate apartment units.

Initially, police discovered two women, one in her early 40s and the other in her late 50s, dead at an apartment following reports of a shooting late Monday in North Las Vegas. During the investigation, they learned a teenage girl had been hospitalized with critical gunshot wounds and there could be more victims in a nearby apartment.

Officers then found the bodies of two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s, all of whom had been shot. None of the victims were immediately identified.

The search for Adams, described as “armed and dangerous,” continued overnight. Just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, police received information that Adams had been spotted at a business in North Las Vegas. When officers arrived, they saw him with a firearm, running into the backyard of a nearby home. Despite officers’ orders to drop his weapon, Adams died by suicide.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the shootings, which they called an “isolated incident.” Attempts to reach Adams’ relatives for comment were unsuccessful. The police department did not respond to additional requests for information.
