Actor Shine Tom Chacko, who recently made headlines for allegedly fleeing from a hotel during a drug inspection in Kochi, will not be arrested at this time, according to the police. Authorities have confirmed that the actor is currently staying at a resort in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. Instead of immediate arrest, a formal notice will be issued summoning him for questioning in connection with the ongoing drug-related investigation.
The incident occurred when Excise officials conducted a surprise raid at a hotel in Kochi where Shine had been staying. Upon their arrival, the actor reportedly escaped the scene, triggering a state-wide search. During the room inspection, the police found alcohol bottles but no direct evidence of drug usage. It was also noted that some female friends had visited the room, and further inquiry is ongoing into that aspect as well.
Police revealed that if necessary, they might collect Shine’s hair samples for forensic testing to determine if he has been using narcotic substances over a period of time. Initial findings suggest Shine may have fled due to fear of arrest related to a separate case registered in Alappuzha. Interestingly, officials mentioned that Shine may have mistaken the Excise officers for someone else, prompting his hasty departure.
The investigation continues, with authorities treating the case seriously amid rising concerns about drug use in the film industry.
