Delhi Airport authorities have issued a cautionary advisory as low visibility due to foggy conditions may impact flights not equipped with CAT III compliance. In a social media post, the airport confirmed that while flight operations, including landings and take-offs, are ongoing, non-CAT III-compliant flights could face disruptions.
Passengers have been advised to stay informed about their flight status by contacting their respective airlines. The advisory stated, “Passengers are requested to contact the airlines for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.” CAT III technology allows aircraft to operate safely under poor visibility, mitigating potential delays for compliant flights.
IndiGo Airlines also issued a separate travel advisory, warning passengers about possible delays caused by dense fog and winter weather conditions in Delhi. Their statement recommended passengers check flight statuses before leaving for the airport and allocate extra travel time to ensure a smooth experience.
The advisory follows moderate rainfall and a severe cold wave that have intensified winter conditions in the national capital. Earlier, on December 19, a similar warning was issued regarding low visibility procedures. However, authorities confirmed that flight operations had not been significantly affected at the time. Passengers are urged to remain vigilant about updates to avoid inconvenience during their journey.
