The proposed initiative will assign each building a unique, unchanging 10-digit number. This permanent identifier will incorporate state, district, and local body codes, ensuring consistency in the numbering system even when administrative boundaries are altered.
A significant feature of this system is the exclusion of ward numbers from the permanent ID. This means that a building’s number will remain unaffected by ward re-delimitation. Moreover, the new system will enable digital tracking of buildings through a mapping tool created with the QField app, a technology developed by Kerala Mission. This digital integration aims to enhance administrative efficiency and accuracy.
