How to Make Aloo Bukhara Chutney at Home

Ingredients:

7-8 Aloo Bukhara (plums)

1-2 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp nigella seeds (kalonji)

1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)

1 tsp fenugreek seeds (methi dana)

2-3 dry red chillies

A few curry leaves

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

1 tbsp ginger paste

¼ cup water

Jaggery, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add cumin seeds, nigella seeds, fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry red chillies, and curry leaves. Cook for about 2 minutes until the spices release their aroma.
  3. Chop the aloo bukharas and add them to the pan. Cover and cook until they soften.
  4. Add salt, pepper, ginger paste, and water. Cook on medium heat until the aloo bukharas are soft. Stir occasionally to mash the aloo bukharas.
  5. Once the mixture reduces to half, add jaggery and mix well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. The chutney is ready to serve!
