Meet Meera Thankam Mathew, the Malayali IT professional who is set to represent New York in the Miss World America contest. A native of Pathanamthitta, Kerala, Meera has made significant strides since moving to the U.S. at the age of three. Currently residing in Staten Island, New York, she works in IT at the healthcare firm Northwell and has previously been crowned Miss Staten Island.
Despite her demanding career, Meera actively pursues her passions in modeling, beauty contests, and dance. Her achievements include being a prominent figure at the Dulhan Expo, New York’s major bridal show, where she was featured as the poster girl. The event was choreographed by Sumit Artya and photographed by John Martin.
Guided by her mentor, Archana Phillip, and supported by friends like Jansu, Meera balances her professional life with her aspirations in the fashion industry. Although she initially dreamt of a career in law enforcement, she shifted her focus to IT to better align with her ambitions in fashion and modeling.
