As India celebrated its 78th Independence Day on August 15, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken extended his warm greetings to the country. In a statement, Blinken praised the strong partnership between India and the United States, highlighting their shared commitment to democracy, freedom, and human dignity.
“On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of India as they celebrate the anniversary of their country’s independence on August 15,” Blinken said.
He emphasized the deep and enduring bonds between the two nations, noting that their comprehensive global and strategic partnership is built on mutual values and interests. “Our comprehensive global and strategic partnership is grounded in the deep bonds between our people and our economies, and built on the foundation of our shared commitment to democracy, freedom, and human dignity,” Blinken added.
Blinken also commended the expanding cooperation between the two countries, citing their joint efforts to promote a free, open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. “From climate and clean energy to defense and space technologies, US-India bilateral cooperation is more wide-ranging and stronger than ever before,” he stated.
