A tragic incident occurred at Adimalathura beach in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday when two postgraduate students were swept away by strong waves. Jeevan, a resident of Venganoor, lost his life, while Parthasarathy from Pattoor remains missing. Both were first-year PG students at Kanjiramkulam Government College. The students had gone for a swim when they were caught in powerful currents. Local fishermen managed to rescue some students and rushed them to the hospital, but unfortunately, Jeevan could not be saved.
Following the incident, search operations are underway to locate Parthasarathy, with the help of coastal police and local fishermen. Authorities are using boats and other rescue equipment to comb the area, but rough sea conditions have made the task challenging.
