Prakash Paul Reveals Professional Rift with Sukanya on the Sets of Kadamattathu Kathanaar

Prakash Paul Opens Up About His Professional Relationship with Sukanya on the Sets of Kadamattathu Kathanaar

The Malayalam television classic Kadamattathu Kathanaar, known for its captivating tales of a priest battling spirits, remains a beloved part of the industry. Prakash Paul, who played the lead role of Kathanar, recently shared his experience working on the show, particularly his dynamic with co-star Sukanya, who portrayed the character Neely.

In an old interview, Paul made an unexpected revelation about his feelings towards Sukanya. “I don’t like Sukanya as a person. While several actresses have taken on the role of Neely, Sukanya was undoubtedly the perfect fit. She is a brilliant actress, but I never liked her personally,” Paul admitted. He emphasized that their interactions remained strictly professional, adding, “We maintained a professional relationship, and she never spoke to me outside of our scripted dialogues.”

Paul also shared how he landed the role of Kathanar. Initially, he was brought on set to film the title song as a stand-in, but after four months of discussions, the crew decided to cast him as the lead. He revealed that many viewers mistook him for an actual priest due to his portrayal, saying, “I didn’t receive the usual acknowledgment as an actor, with some even thinking I was a real priest sent by the church.”
