Today marks the announcement of two major film awards: the 70th National Film Awards and the Kerala State Film Awards. The National Film Awards will be revealed at 3 pm, while the Kerala State Film Awards will be announced at 12 noon. This year’s National Awards feature stiff competition with films such as Mammootty’s ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’, ‘KGF 2’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, and ‘Mahaan’ vying for top honors.
For the Kerala State Film Awards, about ten films have reached the final round. Notable contenders include ‘Aadujeevitham’ and ‘Kaathal – The Core’. The competition for Best Director is particularly fierce between Blessy and Jeo Baby. Urvashi and Parvathy’s standout performances in ‘Ullozhukku’ have earned them nominations for Best Actress. Additionally, AR Rahman is a strong contender for the Best Music Director Award for his work on ‘Aadujeevitham’.
