FlixBus, the well-known European intercity bus service famous for its Rs 99 promotional fares, is set to enter Kerala as part of its South Indian expansion. After a successful launch in Bengaluru, the company has announced that it will soon begin services in Kerala, connecting Bengaluru with Kochi and Alappuzha. The highly anticipated expansion has generated buzz among Malayali travelers eager for affordable travel options.

According to FlixBus India, the new routes to Kerala are expected to start by the end of this year. Initially, the company will operate four buses on two routes: Bengaluru-Kochi and Bengaluru-Alappuzha, with one departure each day in both directions. This introduction will provide Keralites with a cost-effective and comfortable travel option between major cities.

Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India, highlighted that Kochi, Alappuzha, Thrissur, and Palakkad are the key focus areas for the company’s Kerala operations. Although no special promotions have been announced for the Kerala launch, the company promises to maintain competitive pricing to attract passengers.

As part of its broader push in South India, FlixBus recently inaugurated six new routes from Bengaluru, connecting 33 cities across the region. During the launch, the company offered a promotional fare of Rs 99, which quickly gained attention on social media. In total, FlixBus now connects over 100 cities in India with more than 200 routes.

In line with environmental standards, the buses deployed by FlixBus adhere to BS6 emission regulations, ensuring reduced pollutants. The buses are also equipped with ABS, ESC, and 2-point seat belts, offering passengers a safe and comfortable journey. This expansion marks a significant step toward revolutionizing intercity travel in Kerala and South India.
