
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for tomorrow in five districts of Kerala: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Malappuram. Although no special rain warnings are in effect for today, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas. Fishing activities along the Kerala coast are prohibited starting Monday due to adverse weather conditions.
Warnings of High Waves
The National Center for Oceanography and Oceanography (INCOIS) has also issued a warning for high waves and a storm surge along the Tuticorin coast of Tamil Nadu, expected to reach heights of 1.7 to 2.1 meters until 5:30 pm on August 10, 2024. Coastal residents and fishermen are advised to exercise extreme caution.
