The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is preparing to host the Ayyappa Sangamam, an international gathering of Lord Ayyappa devotees, aiming to bring together representatives from nearly 100 countries, including the global Malayali community. The initiative seeks to promote the spiritual and cultural significance of Sabarimala on a global scale.
Reports suggest that a group of Ayyappa devotees from Singapore has expressed their willingness to collaborate with TDB in organizing the event. They have also provided a list of representatives from 25 countries eager to participate. According to officials, this global gathering will not only highlight the unique traditions of Sabarimala but also foster developmental efforts in the region.
The revival of Pampa Sangamam, a cultural and spiritual event that was suspended after the 2018 floods, is also on the agenda. Initially hosted at the Pampa Anjaneya Auditorium during the leadership of Raman Bhattathiripad, this event evolved into a grand conference before being interrupted by the pandemic. TDB now plans to bring back Pampa Sangamam during the ongoing pilgrimage season, with discussions set for the next board meeting.
While challenges exist in hosting the Ayyappa Sangamam during the current pilgrimage season, TDB is optimistic about organizing the event once the season concludes. This initiative marks a significant step toward uniting devotees globally and showcasing the spiritual grandeur of Sabarimala.
