New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram: Amid speculation about a possible change in the leadership of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), the Congress High Command has confirmed that K Sudhakaran will remain as KPCC president. Sources indicate that the party leadership believes removing Sudhakaran at this time could intensify internal political tensions within the party in Kerala.
Sudhakaran reportedly conveyed his displeasure to the High Command over the rumors of his removal. In response, the party has assured him that there will be no immediate changes to his position and that decisions regarding the KPCC leadership will be made in consultation with him. The current priority is to complete the ongoing reorganization process under his leadership.
In light of these developments, Sudhakaran is expected to meet AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal on Saturday to discuss party affairs and the reorganization process. Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary Deepa Das Munshi is conducting discussions focused solely on reorganization strategies, reaffirming the High Command’s commitment to supporting Sudhakaran’s leadership.
This decision underscores the Congress party’s intention to maintain stability in its Kerala unit and proceed with organizational restructuring without creating additional discord. By retaining Sudhakaran, the party aims to bolster unity and focus on its broader goals in the state.
