KSRTC Introduces ‘Travel to Technology’ Educational Tour Packages for Students

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation offers affordable trips to industrial and technological landmarks

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched a new initiative designed for students, offering them the opportunity to explore the state’s industrial and technological sectors through educational leisure tours. The “Travel to Technology” project is organized by KSRTC’s budget tourism cell, aiming to provide school and college students with hands-on exposure to key industries and innovations that are driving Kerala’s progress.

The first trip was organized for the students and teachers of Government Junior Basic School in Peruvemba, Palakkad, who visited the Chavakkad Marine Aquarium and Thrissur Zoo. The initiative aims to enhance students’ understanding of industrial growth and technological advancements in the state. The program includes 135 different tour packages, covering visits to notable places such as ISRO, the KSRTC regional workshop, United Electricals and Industries, Coir Museum, and the Milma Plant.

These one-day trips, priced at less than Rs 500, combine both educational insights and leisure, with participating industries providing meals for the students. Each tour departs in the morning and returns by evening, with teachers accompanying the students. Schools interested in these packages can contact the respective district coordinators of the budget tourism cells for booking details.

This initiative, which began in Malappuram district, aims to make learning more interactive by directly connecting students with the industries that contribute to the state’s development.
