A tragic accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district claimed seven lives and left three injured after a gas tanker collided with two vehicles on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11 pm near Bamansuta village on the Badnawar-Ujjain highway when the tanker, driving on the wrong side of the road, crashed into a car and a jeep coming from the opposite direction.
Dhar SP Manoj Kumar Singh reported that four people died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Senior officials rushed to the scene to oversee rescue operations, with local residents assisting in pulling out trapped individuals using a crane.
The injured were rushed to a hospital in Ratlam district. The victims hailed from Ratlam, Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh), and Jodhpur (Rajasthan). The truck driver fled the scene after the accident, and further investigations are underway. Authorities are working to identify the victims and provide support to their families. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent such tragedies in the future. Investigations are ongoing to locate the absconding truck driver and determine the exact cause of the accident. The lorry driver fled the scene, and the deceased were from Ratlam, Mandsaur, and Jodhpur districts.
