The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) announced a special religious tourism package under the name “Sri Rameswaram–Tirupati Dakshin Darshan Yatra”, offering travellers a spiritual journey through South India.
The IRCTC has launched the initiative under the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train initiative, which will cover South India’s most iconic sacred pilgrimages and tourist destinations, from Tirupati to Ramanathaswamy Temple. The tour package includes a 9-night, 10-day tour starting in November.
The journey will begin on November 7 from Tirupati, home to the sacred Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple and Goddess Padmavati Temple. Then, it will proceed to Rameshwaram for the Ramanathaswamy Temple and the spiritually significant Dhanushkodi.
After reaching Madurai, the devotees will explore the Meenakshi Amman Temple, which is known for its Dravidian architecture. Further, it will move to Kanyakumari, India’s southernmost point, and features Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam, and the Kanyakumari Temple. The final destination will be Thiruvananthapuram. Here, devotees can also visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple and unwind at Kovalam Beach.

Adults: Rs 18,040 (Sleeper Class), Rs 30,370 (3AC), and Rs 40,240 (2AC)
Children (5–11 years): Rs 16,890 (Sleeper), Rs 29,010 (3AC), and Rs 38,610 (2AC)
The travellers will have budget hotel options, including AC and non-AC rooms for their comfort. They will be served with pure vegetarian meals, during the journey as well as in hotels.
In another big move, the Indian Railways is all set to bring an option for its users to change the travel date on their confirmed tickets without paying any cancellation fee.
In case of rescheduling their trips, passengers will be required to pay the difference in price if there is any. The move will make train travel more flexible and affordable, especially when plans change at the last minute.
