Amazon Prime Video officially confirmed that Kantara: The Legend Chapter 1 will be available to stream from October 31 in India and over 200 countries. The movie will initially stream in Kannada, alongside dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, has called the film a milestone for Indian storytelling. He added that the prequel expands the cinematic universe by weaving spirituality, emotion, and scale into one compelling narrative.
Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the film explores the origins of the Panjurli Daiva legend, set during the Kadamba dynasty. The story delves into themes of faith, greed, and balance between man and nature, with divine forces awakening to restore harmony.
Kantara: The Legend Chapter 1 also features Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in key roles, and is produced by Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films, the banner behind the KGF franchise.
